Tamar Nachmany's Yiddish/English Play Debuts!

Inspired by the erotic story “Teibele And Hurmizah” by Isaac Bashevis Singer, Johns Hopkins University student Tamar Nachmany has adapted the story into a play that incorporates a congruous mix of English and Yiddish! The play, with accompanying music from Charm City Klezmer, will be performed on April 13 and 14 at the Arellano Theater at Johns Hopkins University, April 19 at the Jewish Museum of Maryland, and April 21 at the Bell Foundry at 1539 N. Calvert St. (Station North). The shows will open with Talmudic standup by the poet Alexander Nemser and a short screening of Mugi Takei’s erotic, stop-motion animations.
